I am an artist and graphic designer from Des Moines, Iowa. I love to mix it up when it comes to the materials I use and the styles of art I make. Typically, I make mixed media art consisting of oil paint, charcoal, ink, watercolor, marker, and found materials. Although I jump from style to style, I usually stick to the same themes and subjects; buildings, people, concerts, and everything else that comes with city life. This is what I know and see on a daily basis, so I never run out of ideas. Music has always been my biggest source of inspiration so working with City Sounds to create this piano has been a true honor!
Thomas is a conceptual artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and digital media. Through his brand, Getz LLC, he channels artistic ideas into design, creating work that bridges art and everyday life. He has collaborated with organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Des Moines Arts Festival, and Des Moines Women’s Club.
I graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in studio art, music, and arts management. I have been doing fine art for 10 years and public art for the past 5 years, and have loved my work in engaging with the community. I like to draw inspiration from the intricate patterns of the environment in my artwork and infuse elements of surrealism into depictions of wildlife and nature. As an artist and musician, I love being able to combine these mediums together.
