2021 ARTISTS
City Sounds is proud to be a supporter of local art and local artists. Here are the talented creators who will design pianos for the 2021 season.
Mujo Ramic & Theresa MacDonald
Mujo Ramic grew up in the Des Moines area after moving from Bosnia when he was 9 years old. After graduating from Grand View University he began his career as a graphic designer. He currently works as the Creative Services Manager for United Way of Central Iowa. In his free time he loves playing video games, snowboarding, illustrating and hanging out with his fiance and their adorable cat.
Saf Lee Evans
Saf is a full-time professional painter residing in Des Moines. She studied fine art and photography at a tertiary level in Australia, and recently immigrated to the USA after marrying her wife. Her work consists of dynamic, color-intense landscapes that are finished with metallic embellishments.
Ted Lyddon Hatten
His work is best described as theopoetic and multidisciplinary. As a visual artist, he works with encaustic, wood, metalpoint drawing, installation art, site-specific ephemeral art, and dry painting - favoring materials that are satisfying to work with and add additional layers of meaning. Ted is currently the Director of the Wesley Foundation and adjunct professor at Drake University.
Sommer Kibbee & Assistant Tiffany Thomas
Sommer is the proud owner of the Art Junkie Studio in Newton, Iowa where she teaches and inspire budding artists of all ages every single day in both private and group settings. She is always teaching students to "be a part of something bigger than themselves" through their creativity and passion.
Katelyn McBurney
Her work has been featured regionally at the OL Guild, Mainframe Studios, Des Moines Social Club, Chapman House, Stewart Gallery and the Denler Gallery. Her background is in Biology and her work is influenced by her study of the human body and organic material. Katelyn’s work is vibrant and fluid, mixing representational imagery of the human figure and animal form with abstract organic shapes.
